The MoU signing ceremony took place on August 17, 2026 by senior representatives from both Institutions. The event was marked by a shared vision to leverage their respective strengths—GIU’s expertise in interfaith studies and global peacebuilding, alongside EPA’s dedication to English language education and inclusive community development. The MoU formalizes our collaboration on joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, curriculum development, and cultural programs.

Global Interfaith University, known for its pioneering work in promoting interfaith dialogue and religious harmony worldwide, envisions this partnership as a vital step towards expanding its reach into Africa and the Indian Ocean region. By partnering with EPA, an institution committed to providing accessible quality education and fostering intercultural understanding, GIU aims to create a platform for mutual learning and shared growth. The alliance seeks to enhance educational opportunities for Malagasy students and promote cross-cultural understanding among diverse communities.

EPA, with its strong emphasis on English language proficiency and inclusive education, views this collaboration as an opportunity to diversify its educational offerings and strengthen its international connections. The partnership aligns with EPA’s mission to empower local communities through education, enabling students to engage confidently in global conversations and contribute to Madagascar’s socio-economic development.

Key highlights of the MoU include plans for joint academic programs, teacher training workshops, and cultural exchange initiatives that will facilitate meaningful interactions among students and faculty. Both institutions also aim to collaborate on community outreach projects that address local needs, including literacy programs and intercultural dialogue forums.

This partnership underscores the growing importance of international cooperation in higher education, especially in regions like Madagascar, where educational access and intercultural understanding are vital for sustainable development. By joining forces, GIU and EPA are setting a precedent for future collaborations across Africa and beyond, emphasizing the transformative power of education grounded in intercultural respect and shared values. As the partnership progresses, it promises to open new pathways for students and educators alike, fostering a global community committed to peace, understanding, and lifelong learning. Both institutions expressed optimism about the future, reaffirming their dedication to building bridges that transcend borders and beliefs, ultimately contributing to a more harmonious and inclusive world.
