Global Interfaith University (GIU) has, today, August 4, 2026, achieved a significant milestone by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tezpur College, India. This strategic partnership aims to foster academic collaboration, promote intercultural dialogue, and enhance educational opportunities for students and faculty across both institutions.

Tezpur College, established in 1965 through the dedicated efforts of visionary citizens of Tezpur, has grown into one of the leading higher education institutions in the North Bank of Assam. The college’s foundational figures include Late Dulal Chandra Bhattacharjee, the founder President, and Late Padma Prasad, the first acting Principal, whose tireless efforts helped shape the institution’s growth. Affiliated with Gauhati University since December 1, 1972, Tezpur College offers a diverse array of courses, including Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), alongside Higher Secondary programs in Arts and Commerce.

Beyond its core programs, Tezpur College has expanded its educational offerings to include specialized courses like Business Administration (BBA), Travel and Tourism Management (TTM), and Bachelor and Master of Muse (B. Muse and M. Muse). The college is also home to a study center affiliated with Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU), serving working professionals and learners who wish to pursue higher education despite various constraints. This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to making education accessible and flexible for diverse student populations.
