Archbishop Prof. Anyere Tah Godfred

Archbishop Amb. Professor Anyere Tah Godfred was born on January 3, 1952, in Njindom Mbengwi, Momo Division, Northwest Cameroon. His early educational journey began with the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1967 at Njindom Mbengwi. He continued his secondary education, obtaining the GCE Ordinary Level in 1972 in Mankon Bamenda, and the GCE Advanced Level in 1976 in Bonjongo Buea. Demonstrating a strong commitment to academics, he earned his first degree, a Bachelor of Arts (BA), from Metropolitan College Oxford in 1987.
Archbishop Godfred’s theological education is extensive and distinguished. He obtained a Diploma in Theology in 2001, followed by a BA in Theology from India in 2003. His pursuit of Christian studies led him to earn a Master’s degree in Christian Education from New Albany, Indiana, in 2006. Furthering his scholarly credentials, he completed a PhD in Theology from The Cornerstone and Theological Seminary in Jerusalem, Israel, and the USA in 2010. He also holds a Doctor of Divinity from Day Spring Christian University in Florida (2015) and a Doctor of Christian Therapy from DCU Florida (2016). In recent years, he earned an MSc in Christian Psychology in 2023 and a second PhD in Christian Education from DCU Florida in 2019, reflecting his ongoing commitment to academic excellence.
His specialized training includes a Diploma in Pastoral Education and Chaplaincy from the International Institute of Pastoral Education in 2015. He has participated in advanced leadership seminars at the Haggai Institute in 2014 and 2015, which enhanced his leadership skills. Recognized for his scholarly contributions, he was made a Professor by the American Association of Christian Therapists in 2018 and earned a Professorship in Education Management and Administration from ICOFf Global University in 2023.
Archbishop Godfred’s ecclesiastical journey began with his ordination as Reverend in April 2006 by the Kingdom Harvest Ministries in the USA. He was consecrated as a Bishop by the Wesley Synod of Canterbury, England, in 2011, and was later enthroned as an Archbishop by the New Day Kingdom of Churches in Houston, USA. His educational achievements, spiritual ordinations, and leadership roles underscore his influence and dedication to Christian ministry and education.
Beyond his academic and spiritual pursuits, Archbishop Godfred actively promotes peace and interreligious harmony in Cameroon. He has been involved in initiatives that foster dialogue among different religious communities, advocating for unity and mutual respect to reduce religious tensions. His efforts aim to strengthen social cohesion in a country marked by diverse faiths, emphasizing the importance of peaceful coexistence for national stability and development. Through his leadership, he continues to inspire efforts toward peaceful reconciliation and interfaith understanding in Cameroon.
