Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme
Prof. Ehi Eric Esoimeme is a distinguished and globally recognized authority in the fields of financial crime compliance, law, and academia. Renowned for his pioneering work in the implementation of the Risk-Based Approach (RBA), he has significantly contributed to combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and modern slavery. His career seamlessly blends high-level academic research with practical legal expertise, making him a leading figure in both scholarly and professional circles.

Currently, Prof. Esoimeme serves as a Professor of Business Law and Ethics at James Hope University in Nigeria. He also holds professorial appointments at Rudolph Kwanue University in Liberia and Kennedy University of Baptist in the United States, reflecting his international academic influence. His educational background is extensive; he earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Lagos and an LLM in International Commercial Law from Cardiff University. Furthering his academic credentials, he holds two PhDs—one in International Public Law—and a Juris Doctor (JD) equivalent from the United States, exemplifying his deep expertise in both legal systems and international law.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Esoimeme is a qualified legal practitioner, having been admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 2010 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. As a leader in the field, Prof. Esoimeme is the Managing Partner of E-Four and AAF, a prominent global consultancy specializing in anti-money laundering (AML) compliance. His contributions to the field have earned him numerous accolades; notably, his book, “The Risk-Based Approach to Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing,” was ranked as the fifth-best book on money laundering of all time by Financial Expert in 2021.

Prof. Esoimeme’s academic and professional recognition is extensive. He has received several honorary doctorates, including a Doctorate in Financial Crimes in 2022, and additional doctorates in Economics, Banking, and Finance from the Institut Universitaire du Bénin in 2023. In 2022, he was awarded the Distinguished Professorship Award in Financial Crimes Compliance, and in 2023, he received a special service award from the Nigeria Police Force (PCRC), acknowledging his dedication and impact.
