Anne V. Roth holds a Master of Divinity Degree from New Brunswick Theological Seminary (1978) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Douglass College, Rutgers University (1975). She also holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from La Casa de la Luz (1996). She attended additional courses at Westminster Choir College, Princeton, and Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley
Anne V. Roth was one of the first ordained women in the United Methodist Church. She served churches as a pastor in the Southern New Jersey Annual Conference from 1977 to 1987. She is currently Treasurer at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Sierra Vista, Arizona, USA. One of the first volunteers in the founding of the United Religions Initiative (URI), an international grassroots interfaith peacebuilding organization working to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the whole world, she served as a GlobalTrustee (2009-2012). She was also Vice President of URI North America from 2010 to 2012, served on the URI North American Interim Leadership Council from 2009 to 2010, URI North America Steering Committee from 2006 to 2009. She and Bill worked as Conference Staff for URI Europe's meetings in Antwerp, BE in June 2007.She has been a presenter; worked with planning teams; been a delegate to regional conferences - Asia/Pacific, Europe; a workshop leader; and maintained local, regional, and global connections from 2001-2012.
Anne V. Roth also served on the International Affairs Committee for the Conference on World Affairs, University of Colorado at Boulder, from 2011 to 2014; Religious Advisory Council/Univ. of Denver/Iliff Theological Seminary from 2012-2019; Chaired the Interfaith Council at Stapleton, Denver (URI CC). She attended the Women's Global Forum, Boulder, CO (2007-2011), and volunteered with the AIDS Project of Contra Costa County (California) 1989-94.
She was on the Board of Directors for Restoring the Soul (Faith and Community Partners), Boulder, CO - 2009-2011 and their Advisory Council - 2011- 2013; the Interfaith Council of Contra Costa County, CA - 1999-2003, the Interfaith HIV/AIDS Coalition of the EastBay - 1994-97. Her published writings include "Art and Soul" (Abingdon Press 2002); Seasons of the Church Year, Advent, United Methodist Publ. House in 1990; Challenge, Vol. IV, "The Least of These", UMPH -1993; "To the Point: AIDS", Abingdon Press 1993.For five years she served as Interviewer/Photographer for the AIDS Project newsletter.
