Dr. Myint Htoon

GIU Senior Faculty Member and Academic Advisor

Dr. Myint Htoon is a distinguished academic leader, and management consultant with over two decades of experience in higher education and business consultancy. He currently serves as Academic Dean and Senior Professor in Myanmar. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing, a M.Sc., and six MBA specialization certificates from Regensys Business School, Dr. Htoon possesses broad expertise spanning strategic marketing, organizational behavior, human resources management, international management, entrepreneurship, and leadership. He also holds multiple diplomas in HRM, operations, customer service, business management, and digital marketing from institutions in Ireland and the UK. His professional certifications—such as Certified Business Leader, Certified Master of Business Consultant, and Certified Management Trainer—reflect his commitment to bridging academic knowledge with practical application.

 

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Htoon has served in pivotal roles, including Academic Dean for Myanmar’s MBA Education Panel (2011–2018) and Senior Professor for co-branded international doctorate and master programs since 2023. His teaching portfolio spans MBA, BBA-MCC joint with Siam University Bangkok, and professional diploma programs in subjects such as marketing, strategic management, logistics, and workforce development. He has supervised numerous theses, designed curricula integrating real-world business challenges, and developed training programs that enhance both student employability and institutional reputation.

 

Complementing his academic leadership, Dr. Htoon is an accomplished management consultant and corporate trainer. Over the years, he has provided strategic guidance to more than 30 organizations, including Golden Brother Group, Htoo Sett Linn, and Suzuki Motor (FMI Group), advising on sales, marketing, human resources, and operational strategies. His corporate training programs—covering leadership, strategic sales, HR development, and business resilience—have played a vital role in strengthening workforce capabilities, particularly in Myanmar’s post-crisis recovery environment.

 

Dr. Htoon is also an active scholar and author. His works include Living in The Managing Age, Employee Value Creating Strategy, Principles of Marketing - A Strategic Guide for Students and Practitioners and multiple recent publications on digital marketing, AI, and business transformation. He has produced business plans for local and international ventures, contributed to translations and media projects, and developed widely used professional training curricula. His scholarly and consulting contributions consistently bridge theory and practice, making him a valuable thought leader in the fields of marketing, HR, and strategic management.


Dr. Htoon is affiliated with organizations such as the British Educational Leadership, Management & Administration Society (BELMAS, UK), the Distance Education & Accreditation Council (USA), ECE-Education Credential Evaluator (US) and the Certified Management Institute (UK). Fluent in English, Myanmar, Thai, and Japanese, he leverages his multilingual and multicultural expertise to enhance cross-border academic and business collaborations. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Htoon is a dedicated mentor and lifelong learner with personal interests in travel, music, reading, and digital innovation. His vision for the future focuses on advancing higher education in Myanmar by integrating global best practices, fostering disaster recovery education, and nurturing the next generation of business leaders equipped to navigate dynamic, post-crisis economies.
