Dr. Alina Borysova

Dr. Alina Borysova is a distinguished citizen of Ukraine, residing in the historic and resilient Hero-city of Kharkiv. Throughout her career, she has exemplified a strong commitment to education, research, and community development, making significant contributions to her university and country. Her academic background is notably diverse, holding both a PhD in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Food Technology with a specialization in Dietetics. This multidisciplinary education reflects her broad intellectual curiosity and dedication to understanding human behavior, health, and well-being from multiple perspectives. Dr. Borisova currently serves as Associate Professor at KSAC’s Department of Psychology, Pedagogy, and Philology, while also leading the Academy’s International Relations Office.
Alina’s professional journey is marked by her long-standing dedication to higher education administration and student development. She served for many years as the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics, where she played a key role in shaping the faculty’s academic programs, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and supporting students and faculty members alike. Her leadership in this role demonstrated her ability to manage complex academic operations, implement innovative initiatives, and promote an inclusive and dynamic educational environment.
In 2005, Alina was appointed Dean of the International Students Faculty, a position that underscored her commitment to fostering internationalization in higher education. Under her leadership, the faculty experienced significant growth, expanding to accommodate up to 500 international students. Her efforts in this area not only facilitated the recruitment of diverse students from around the world but also helped the university build a reputation for being welcoming and supportive to international scholars. She worked diligently to create a vibrant multicultural community, ensuring that international students received quality education and integration support during their studies.
Alina’s work has been instrumental in strengthening the university’s global connections and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Her initiatives have contributed to enriching the academic environment, fostering collaboration among students and faculty from different backgrounds, and enhancing Ukraine’s higher education profile on the international stage.
Despite challenges faced by her city and country, especially amid times of political and social upheaval, Alina’s resilience and unwavering dedication to her community and profession have remained steadfast. She continues to serve as a role model for aspiring educators and students, exemplifying leadership, perseverance, and a commitment to positive change. Her multifaceted expertise, combined with her leadership experience, positions her as a vital contributor to Ukraine’s educational landscape and a proud representative of Kharkiv’s resilient spirit.
